Country Water Partnership (CWP) Lithuania was established in September 2000. The most important activities since its creation were raising awareness on important water issues and dissemination of information about IWRM.

In the past, CWP Lithuania facilitated implementation of the WFD; other water related EU directives as well as GWP CEE Dialogues and is known as a key player in the field of water education. In addition, it is officially recognised by governmental institutions, water professionals and have built strategic alliances with organisations such as WWF-Lithuania and Baltic Environmental Forum. 

CWP Lithuania has established excellent working contacts with Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Health, Environmental Protection Agency, Geological Survey, Ministry of Agriculture, Vilnius University and other governmental bodies.

CWP Lithuania work in the future includes exchange of information on sub-regional level and facilitation of public participation in water management planning.
